Improve your offering
Add the benefits of P-touch label printing directly from within your own existing software, or create your own totally customised labelling applications. By using the b-PAC SDK, your labels can contain any combination of text, barcodes, images and logos.
The b-PAC SDK allows you to add a label printing feature to an existing system that may currently be in place. This is an ideal cost-saving solution for users who do not want to invest in or replace their current system.
No coding knowledge is required in order to program the software. All necessary information such as print driver settings and label size are stored within the template that is used.
The process of integrating the Brother labelling system into your application by using b-PAC is as follows:
Open a link between your program and a b-PAC.
Instruct b-PAC on which pre-defined template (defined using P-Touch Editor) to use.
Replace the field names on this template with any required text, barcodes, images etc.
Instruct b-PAC to send the template to the P-Touch printer driver.
Close link to the b-PAC.
Using b-PAC software
Create a label template using the P-Touch Editor design software.
Add in any images, clipart, timestamps, tables, fonts etc.
This template file stores all information on label size and the name of the P-Touch printer so b-PAC can gain access to this information.
Save the template to disk for use by b-PAC.
Insert required b-PAC commands into your software application. These commands enable b-PAC to know what information needs to go on the label and where.
The final label design is that populated with the required information and sent to the printer, from which the label can be retrieved from.
b-PAC only works with 32-bit applications.
The b-PAC component is implemented as a COM automation server. If an application that handles a COM automation server is used, then this will be compatible with b-PAC. Examples are:
Visual Basic® .NET
VBA (Excel® and Access®)
